Obama Wins

Obama won. Now let's focus on turning the red and blue to purple... let's cross the aisles to turn this divided country into one nation, under God, indivisible...

GET OUT AND VOTE

No matter whether your an Obama-fan, a McCain -a-maniac, get out there and vote.

It's a civic duty.

What's that? You don't like either of them?

You still have a vote, and it's your duty as an American to use it.
Write-in the person you want to run our country. Even if they are not running. You have a right, you need to use it!

By the way, this picture is me with Obama and McCain cut-outs at Senator Joe Scarnati's Kids Fest 2008.

Picture Will Smith capturing Osama Bin Laden...

Will Smith for President Baby!

Baby Got Barack

All Hail Obama

Since we ripped on Palin, we might as well get a shot at Obama, too. We're equal opportunity teasers.

I just found this funny little site. Made me chuckle, even though I like Palin

Will's "First Lady" Doesn't Like Palin

Trendhunter.com says that Jada Pinkett Smith is NOT a fan of Sarah Palin...
Surprise, Surprise!

Meg Ryan’s views on Sarah Palin were backed by Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith who said, “It’s nice to see women in America are being extremely vocal about politics this year. But her being a woman hasn’t made me sway to that side. Not one bit.”

WIlly Crushin' on Obama's Wife

As Barack Obama continues his historic run for President, talk has already started on who should play the senator in the movie – and Will Smith says he might be game. “I gotta get the rights to the story,” Will told Access Hollywood

Rumored: Will Smith as Captain America

When Marvel announced that “Captain America” was making its way to the big-screen, fans everywhere began speculating who would be donning the famous red-white-and-blue tights. Nothing has been heard since, but during an MTV News interview regarding his role in “Miracle at St. Anna,” actor Derek Luke let slip that a very prominent - and surprising - face could be the star of Marvel Studios’ next blockbuster film.

Will Smith and Hitler?

Will Smith found himself in hot water last week after making a statement to a Scottish newspaper that Adolph Hitler "didn't wake up going, 'let me do the most evil thing I can do today.' I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was good."

Smith's quote was preceded by the interviewer's gratuitous observation, "Remarkably, Will believes everyone is basically good." So websites pounced on Smith for allegedly believing that Hitler was "a good person," even though Smith said no such thing.

The Fresh Prince Plays Obama?

"It's all right here," Smith joked as he pointed to his ears. "That's the key. That's the key. America loves ears, you know? Mickey Mouse started it; Goofy and Dumbo followed behind. And America just loves ears."

Within 15 years?

"People laugh, but if I set my mind to it, within the next 15 years I would be president," the 35-year-old actor recently told reporters. "I have specific attitudes about things that are really important to a lot of people. I feel like I'd be a good president."

Obama's VP?

Will Smith’s support for Senator Obama as a presidential candidate is public record. Will says he’ll do whatever is asked of him to help Obama to get elected. Does that include running as the VP candidate? In a joking manner Will said yes, he’d be VP if that is what it took to get Obama elected.

Will Smith on Bush and Obama

“The basis of human sanity is physical survival, right? So I’d start with universal healthcare and shelter. I can’t see that happening under Bush. Too many bad things have happened under his presidency. I don’t believe he is an evil man, I just think he has an unevolved perspective. It’s a good thing he’s served his time. Now it’s time for Barack Obama.”

Richard Simmons for Congressmen?

This article may prompt us to rethink our suggested candidate for president.... Richard Simmons for prez, and Will Smith for VP...

=================

Fitness star and effervescence extreme Richard Simmons is on Capitol Hill today, tackling the issue of childhood obesity and pushing for increased school exercise programs. But as he testifies before the House Education and Labor Committee, the 60-year-old is nodding toward that celebrity siren song: political office.

In a half-serious, half-jocular tone, Simmons described his approach to the hearing, saying, "I want to have the respect of a congressman, I want to talk like a congressman, and maybe, someday, I'll be a congressman."

Summertime

Comment Roundup: The Issues

The good ole' US of A.... yup. That's my country.

And I'm proud of my country. I'm glad to be an American, and I think that there are always things we can do to make it better.

As McCain and Obama prepare to slug it out, we're realizing how divided our nation really is...

Party lines have never been further apart... People have never hated nor loved a president as much as George W. Bush.

The real question is... what exactly ARE the issues facing our nation?

What issues do you care about the MOST?

The economy?
The War?
Gas Prices?
Healthcare?

What does Will Smith (or ANYONE for that matter) need to make the priority issues of his (or her) presidency?

Post your comments..

Movie Star President

If the question is "Can a Movie Star really be president?" arises, the answer is YES.

Ronald Reagan was perhaps the greatest president of this century. Before serving as governor as California, Reagan was best known as a movie star.

Check out his profile at the Internet Movie Database.

The real question is: Would Will Smith make a good president?

Discovering the answer to that question is what this site is all about.

Who We Are

Will Smith for President is a blog that explores the possibilities, the benefits, and the ramifications of Will Smith running for the office of president.

We are not associated with Will Smith officially, although we'd love to meet him someday.

Josh Hatcher is our primary contributor. Josh is an freelance graphic designer and audio video producer working with OpenArms.tv, a licensed Free Methodist Pastor, and a published author.

Will Smith for President is not obsessed with celebrity, but rather intrigued by the idea of the Fresh Prince in the Oval Office.

Will Smith for What?!?!

In the spring of 2007, I sat in a lawyer's office with my wife, waiting to sign on the dotted line. We were about to purchase our first home, and we were so excited.

While we sat and waited, Zoe picked up a Reader's Digest and read this article.

"Josh, you have to read this!" she exclaimed.

I have always been a fan of Will Smith. From my old days as a wannabe B-Boy in the early nineties, to my high school days watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, to Independence Day, and now Hancock.

But as I read this article, I realized how much of a great man Mr. Smith really is. He's a brilliant businessman, a terrific dramatic and comedic actor, and a true hero for America's youth, telling them that they can make a difference in their life, a difference in the world, and proving it with his actions.

In terms of my values, I'm a conservative. But I am not into partisan politics. I know that Will considers himself a democrat, and I'm sure that we have a variety of policy issues that we will not agree on.

But at the same time, a man like Will Smith could change the world.

So, while this site is not meant to be about partisan politics, political agendas, or even an official endorsement of Mr. Smith as a political candidate, it is about exploring the possibility.

As we explore the possibility of Will Smith's ability to lead our nation, we'll ask the tough questions, we'll look at his personality, his values, his messages, his ideas on policy, and more. We may disagree with a number of things on Mr. Smith's plate, but we have to ask the question...

Is America ready for The Fresh Prince to fill the Oval Office?

Article: Will Smith may dive into politics

While I personally find myself swimming in a more conservative stream on some issues, Will Smith has a lot of values and visions that I agree with. I'm sure we don't agree on everything, but I think he would make a great commander in chief. Check out this article from MSNBC.

Is Will Smith practicing his "Hail to the Chief" wave?

By Jeannette Walls
updated 4:27 a.m. ET, Tues., Aug. 10, 2004

Don’t be surprised if Will Smith starts referring to himself as I, Politician.

The “I, Robot” star startled his fans in Sweden with his strong political views. “He was really jokey and laid-back about most things, until it came to politics, then he became very serious and very emphatic,” says our source there. “It became pretty obvious he doesn’t have a high opinion of President Bush.”

“Of course I could be president if I wanted to,” Smith told the newspaper Aftonbladet, according to our translator. “But being president isn’t the kind of job you’d want to have with the way things are today.”

Interview By Gayle Jo Carter

Will Smith portrait Will Smith, though taller (at 6 feet 2 inches) and more muscular than the movie screen lets on, is exactly who millions of moviegoers, record buyers and TV watchers think he is - funny, charming, thoughtful and unguarded. You can't help but get a burst of energy just being near him.

This week, Smith, 30, who made his mark in the back-to-back mega-grossing summer action flicks Independence Day and Men in Black, takes on a more serious role and new challenge: opening his spy thriller Enemy of the State in the competitive holiday season.
