"People laugh, but if I set my mind to it, within the next 15 years I would be president," the 35-year-old actor recently told reporters. "I have specific attitudes about things that are really important to a lot of people. I feel like I'd be a good president."

Obama's VP?
Will Smith’s support for Senator Obama as a presidential candidate is public record. Will says he’ll do whatever is asked of him to help Obama to get elected. Does that include running as the VP candidate? In a joking manner Will said yes, he’d be VP if that is what it took to get Obama elected.

Will Smith on Bush and Obama
“The basis of human sanity is physical survival, right? So I’d start with universal healthcare and shelter. I can’t see that happening under Bush. Too many bad things have happened under his presidency. I don’t believe he is an evil man, I just think he has an unevolved perspective. It’s a good thing he’s served his time. Now it’s time for Barack Obama.”
There's also an interesting quote from Obama on Smith's Big Ears!

Richard Simmons for Congressmen?
This article may prompt us to rethink our suggested candidate for president.... Richard Simmons for prez, and Will Smith for VP...
=================
Fitness star and effervescence extreme Richard Simmons is on Capitol Hill today, tackling the issue of childhood obesity and pushing for increased school exercise programs. But as he testifies before the House Education and Labor Committee, the 60-year-old is nodding toward that celebrity siren song: political office.
In a half-serious, half-jocular tone, Simmons described his approach to the hearing, saying, "I want to have the respect of a congressman, I want to talk like a congressman, and maybe, someday, I'll be a congressman."

Interesting Discussion
I started a thread at the forums at RelevantMagazine.com, just for the fun of it, and to get people's thoughts on a Will Smith Presidential run.
It's turned into quite an interesting discussion.

Comment Roundup: The Issues
The good ole' US of A.... yup. That's my country.
And I'm proud of my country. I'm glad to be an American, and I think that there are always things we can do to make it better.
As McCain and Obama prepare to slug it out, we're realizing how divided our nation really is...
Party lines have never been further apart... People have never hated nor loved a president as much as George W. Bush.
The real question is... what exactly ARE the issues facing our nation?
What issues do you care about the MOST?
The economy?
The War?
Gas Prices?
Healthcare?
What does Will Smith (or ANYONE for that matter) need to make the priority issues of his (or her) presidency?
Post your comments..
