Will's "First Lady" Doesn't Like Palin
Surprise, Surprise!
Meg Ryan’s views on Sarah Palin were backed by Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith who said, “It’s nice to see women in America are being extremely vocal about politics this year. But her being a woman hasn’t made me sway to that side. Not one bit.”

Will Smith and Hitler?
Smith's quote was preceded by the interviewer's gratuitous observation, "Remarkably, Will believes everyone is basically good." So websites pounced on Smith for allegedly believing that Hitler was "a good person," even though Smith said no such thing.

Richard Simmons for Congressmen?
=================
Fitness star and effervescence extreme Richard Simmons is on Capitol Hill today, tackling the issue of childhood obesity and pushing for increased school exercise programs. But as he testifies before the House Education and Labor Committee, the 60-year-old is nodding toward that celebrity siren song: political office.
In a half-serious, half-jocular tone, Simmons described his approach to the hearing, saying, "I want to have the respect of a congressman, I want to talk like a congressman, and maybe, someday, I'll be a congressman."

Comment Roundup: The Issues
And I'm proud of my country. I'm glad to be an American, and I think that there are always things we can do to make it better.
As McCain and Obama prepare to slug it out, we're realizing how divided our nation really is...
Party lines have never been further apart... People have never hated nor loved a president as much as George W. Bush.
The real question is... what exactly ARE the issues facing our nation?
What issues do you care about the MOST?
The economy?
The War?
Gas Prices?
Healthcare?
What does Will Smith (or ANYONE for that matter) need to make the priority issues of his (or her) presidency?
Post your comments..

Movie Star President
If the question is "Can a Movie Star really be president?" arises, the answer is YES.
Ronald Reagan was perhaps the greatest president of this century. Before serving as governor as California, Reagan was best known as a movie star.
Check out his profile at the Internet Movie Database.
The real question is: Would Will Smith make a good president?
Discovering the answer to that question is what this site is all about.

Who We Are
We are not associated with Will Smith officially, although we'd love to meet him someday.
Josh Hatcher is our primary contributor. Josh is an freelance graphic designer and audio video producer working with OpenArms.tv, a licensed Free Methodist Pastor, and a published author.
Will Smith for President is not obsessed with celebrity, but rather intrigued by the idea of the Fresh Prince in the Oval Office.

Will Smith for What?!?!
While we sat and waited, Zoe picked up a Reader's Digest and read this article.
"Josh, you have to read this!" she exclaimed.
I have always been a fan of Will Smith. From my old days as a wannabe B-Boy in the early nineties, to my high school days watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, to Independence Day, and now Hancock.
But as I read this article, I realized how much of a great man Mr. Smith really is. He's a brilliant businessman, a terrific dramatic and comedic actor, and a true hero for America's youth, telling them that they can make a difference in their life, a difference in the world, and proving it with his actions.
In terms of my values, I'm a conservative. But I am not into partisan politics. I know that Will considers himself a democrat, and I'm sure that we have a variety of policy issues that we will not agree on.
But at the same time, a man like Will Smith could change the world.
So, while this site is not meant to be about partisan politics, political agendas, or even an official endorsement of Mr. Smith as a political candidate, it is about exploring the possibility.
As we explore the possibility of Will Smith's ability to lead our nation, we'll ask the tough questions, we'll look at his personality, his values, his messages, his ideas on policy, and more. We may disagree with a number of things on Mr. Smith's plate, but we have to ask the question...
Is America ready for The Fresh Prince to fill the Oval Office?
Article: Will Smith may dive into politics
Don’t be surprised if Will Smith starts referring to himself as I, Politician.
The “I, Robot” star startled his fans in Sweden with his strong political views. “He was really jokey and laid-back about most things, until it came to politics, then he became very serious and very emphatic,” says our source there. “It became pretty obvious he doesn’t have a high opinion of President Bush.”
“Of course I could be president if I wanted to,” Smith told the newspaper Aftonbladet, according to our translator. “But being president isn’t the kind of job you’d want to have with the way things are today.”
Article: Will Smith wants to be President of the United States
Hollywood superstar Will Smith has revealed he has his eye on the greatest role of his life – to become President of the United States.
And the 39-year-old Men In Black star, regarded as one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, said his priorities in office would be to reform American healthcare and tackle homelessness.
In an interview with The Mail on Sunday's Live magazine to promote his latest film I Am Legend – where he plays a survivor of a man-made plague – he said: 'I'm going to be President of the United States.
"I always wanted to be the first black president but Barack Obama (a black presidential hopeful) stole my idea. That's OK with me. Barack can go first and then I'll take my turn."

USA Weekend Article From 1998
Apparently, Will has been thinking about becoming president for some time. Check out this article in the USA Weekend from 1998

Interview By Gayle Jo Carter
ill Smith, though taller (at 6 feet 2 inches) and more muscular than the movie screen lets on, is exactly who millions of moviegoers, record buyers and TV watchers think he is - funny, charming, thoughtful and unguarded. You can't help but get a burst of energy just being near him.
This week, Smith, 30, who made his mark in the back-to-back mega-grossing summer action flicks Independence Day and Men in Black, takes on a more serious role and new challenge: opening his spy thriller Enemy of the State in the competitive holiday season.
